Below are a selection of Charody’s works in the genre of cabaret & music theater. Most of these works belong to Charody’s circus opera ‘The Carnival’ & Charody’s operatic musical ‘Morning Blossoms’. In 2019 the sheet music from Charody’s next musical titled ‘Jingah!’ (written in collaboration with Duncan Townsend) will be available.

Fade Not (libretto by Malcolm Rock) is one of the feature works for the title role of Asuka in Charody’s operatic musical ‘Morning Blossoms’ that toured The Netherlands in 2016 with The Netherlands Symphony Orchestra conducted by Tecwyn Evans. This recording features musical theater singer Celine Purcell. This work is available for both musical theater singer as well as soprano. Piano reduction is also available.

Sea Comes Up (libretto by Malcolm Rock) is one of the feature works for the title role of Asuka in Charody’s operatic musical ‘Morning Blossoms’ that toured The Netherlands in 2016 with The Netherlands Symphony Orchestra conducted by Tecwyn Evans. This performance features musical theater singer Celine Purcell. This work is also available for soprano as well as in piano reduction format.

‘Welcome to our land’ | cabaret/opera crossover singer with chamber ensemble

Welcome To Our Land is one of the highlights in Charody’s circus opera The Carnival. It is advised that when performing this work outside the context of The Carnival that the performers carefully follow the directional notes in the score.

This work is scored for female cabaret/opera crossover singer with piano, 2 violins, viola, double bass.

‘Vodka’

Vodka is one of the highlights in Charody’s circus opera ‘The Carnival’. The piece is performed by The Baltic Ballerina Bats of The Vodka Loft (a mixture of acrobats & singers) who immerse the audience in a wild Bacchanalia of acrobatics, song & of course Vodka. It is important that if singers are to attempt this work outside the context of The Carnival that they pay close attention to the directional notes.

This work is scored for 4 female cabaret/opera cross over singers with piano, 2 violins, viola, double bass.

Question of Admonition (libretto by Malcolm Rock) is a work for 3 female singers & orchestra from Charody’s operatic musical ‘Morning Blossoms’ that toured The Netherlands in 2016 with The Netherlands Symphony Orchestra conducted by Tecwyn Evans. This recording features Ellen Van Beek, Björk Níelsdóttir & Celine Purcell who premiered the work at Theater De Speigel, Zwolle on October 11 2016.

Piano reduction is also available.
